Rumor – Mad Max: Fury Road Pushed Back To 2015

Some bad news for Mad Max: Fury Road, the long list of delays will supposedly continue into 2015.  According to DigitalSpy, the movie has been pushed back: “According to a Warner Bros release document we just got, Mad Max: Fury Road won’t be in cinemas until 2015 (!)”.  This isn’t the first time this rumor has circulated.  In June Village Roadshow staked a similar claim: “VRP’s upcoming slate includes “The Lego Movie” starring Morgan Freeman, Elizabeth Banks and Will Arnett opening February 7, 2014; “All You Need Is Kill” starring Tom Cruise, Emily Blunt and Bill Paxton opening June 6, 2014; and “Mad Max: Fury Road” starring Nicholas Hoult, Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron set to open in 2015.”  However, this should still be filed as rumor. After investigation, the VR claim was shot down by Grace PR as a ‘mistake’.  Secondly, ManlyMovie learned earlier in the summer that a rough cut of the movie already exists with only (albeit major) post-production to go.  You’d have to wonder what could warrant another 12+ months of work.  I’m also sure that Miller would be keen to avoid the usually busy schedule of 2015 kiddie/comic book mania.
