Schwarzenegger Open To Running Man Sequel
Recently, the Oak attended an ‘evening with Arnold Schwarzenegger’. Kinda the same deal as an ‘evening with Sylvester Stallone’, which almost ended in a riot as pissed off fans got screwed out of a $2,500 private mingling session. Anyway, Schwarzenegger took the usual questions, said the usual one-liner and talked possible sequels. With the obvious talk of being excited for another Conan movie, Schwarzenegger also entertained the notion of returning as ‘Mad Dog’ Ben Richards:
“People loved the movie. I loved the idea, It is like the Hunger Games, it’s that kind of idea. I think that now, if someone writes it (a Running Man sequel) really well, it can be an extraordinary movie. I hope that no one decides to do that movie without me. I would really love to pick it up and continue on where we left off and be the Running Man.”
I get the feeling that’s not going to happen. Feels like it would be a big budget venture and if it was going to happen, they’d most likely reboot it with some younger star like Channing Tatum. Oh well. At least we dodged a bullet with the original idea for the sequel, which was to star Dennis Rodman, an ‘actor’ who makes Mark Wahlberg look like Al Pacino. That fell through, to the exhaling relief of every fan of the original.

How would a sequel start off? They killed everyone including the host & walked out of the joint. What would u do for a sequel?

Let the record show that I’m all for it. I’m surprised that of all Arnold’s movies he wants to revisit, he chooses ‘The Running Man’. If we’re going to do sequel’s to 80’s movies, then I want the same music & shit. When the credits roll, I want that saxophone shit playing with a mixture of the other instruments that I can’t think of at the moment. You know what I’m sayin……
