Last year’s John Wick was the incredibly manly tale of a dude going on a gun-toting rampage after some pissants slay his pup and steal his wheels. But it also left open the possibilities for more at the end. John Wick is after all, a professional killer.
Directors Chad Stahelski and David Leitch tell Movies.com that a sequel is happening.
“We have ideas for days and without blinking twice we know we can outdo the action from the original,” Stahelski said. “It’s the matter of story and how much you like the character. That’s always the most important. If there’s great action but you have a character that no one likes and doesn’t have charisma you’re not going to watch it. Look at any great action star, whether it’s Harrison Ford or Liam Neeson or Robert Downey Jr., pick a name, you love the guy first. Good action, bad action, you just love them in action. So we want to make sure we have a story and a character that everybody loves and then we’ll dress it with action that we promise will be awesome.”
“You gotta go on a journey with the guy and have to like the guy,” Leitch added.
John Wick is out now on Blu-Ray and it slaughters the competition. I expect more greatness from these two directors, as former stuntmen, they sure do have an eye for delivering action as it should be delivered.

Great news. I may not ever get my Dredd sequel, but at least someone was smart enough to greenlight this.

Didn’t like John Wick. Too silly a story and the dialogue was lame. Great shootout sequences though and Reeves is surprisingly good as a blank faced killer. I also thought he was good in Street Kings. Am I the only one who liked Street Kings.?
