The Inside Story On RoboCop At WCW – ManlyMovie

The Inside Story On RoboCop At WCW

robocop wcw25 years ago, old bucket boy, AKA RoboCop, showed up in WCW.  Outside interference of course (typical!).  This was at their 1991 pay per view Capital Combat, where the cyborg showed up to assist Sting.  It was actually a fully official PPV, a promotional crossover with the upcoming release of RoboCop 2.

There has been some debate over the years, shit, over the decades, as to who was in the suit.  I’ve never believed that it was actually Peter Weller, but now Jim Cornette, who was working for WCW at the time, lays out the details about the appearance in the video below.

Cornette says that it was Weller, but you have to keep in mind that this is Jim Cornette we’re talking about, one of the biggest blowhards in pro wrestling.  True enough though, WCW did throw money at big stars.  Leno, Rodman, Van Damme, Norris etc all showed up in (often botched) cameos.

And again, true enough, there was a botch with Murphy’s rescue.  He fucks up his leg and limps to the back.  And in WCW style, was kinda funny in itself.
