A heads up this weekend on some potentially interesting Blu-Ray releases that are coming our way.  Firstly, fans of Jason Statham might take notice of the upcoming home release of ‘Wild Card’, released July 27th on DVD and Blu-Ray.  That release will feature the extended version of the movie and run for an extra ten minutes.  Other details are as of yet unavailable. You can pre-order yours by clicking here.

Secondly, HBO Home Entertainment has officially announced that it will release on Blu-Ray Strike Back: Season Three. The release will be available for purchase on August 4.

The world isn’t saving itself, so the stealth counterterrorism unit Section 20, led by the unlikely alliance between two crack special agents – the American renegade Sgt. Damien Scott (Sullivan Stapleton) and the elite British spy Sgt. Michael Stonebridge (Philip Winchester) – continues to pursue threats to our global security around the world. This season they track a deadly terrorist network from Colombia to Beirut to Europe, uncovering deadly plots that reach to the West. As in previous seasons, the production utilizes consultants who work in the field of counterterrorism to add to the authenticity of the series, providing essential background on stories, characters, training and settings.

The returning cast also includes Rhona Mitra as Maj. Rachel Dalton, Michelle Lukes as Sgt. Julia Richmond and Liam Garrigan as Sgt. Liam Baxter. New cast members includes Robson Green as a new member of Section 20, Dougray Scott as rogue operative James Leatherby and Milauna Jackson as a key player who crosses paths with the counterterrorism team. Strike Back is a Cinemax Presentation in association with British Sky Broadcasting Limited, a continuation of the six-episode series that aired on Sky TV in 2010, which was based on the novels of Chris Ryan, the pen name of a real-life former British Special Forces operative.

Special Features:

  • Nine “How to Strike Back” featurettes
  • Three audio commentaries with cast and crew members
