A new gambling-orientated movie is on the horizon titled “Mississipi Grind“. It will star Ryan Reynolds and Scott Mendelsohn. Directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, the film first appeared at this year’s Sundance Film Fest. We have the trailer to share today.
Scott Mendelsohn will play Gerry, a gambler who is out of luck whose fortune begins to change when he meets Curtis (Reynolds), a charismatic poker player who convinces Gerry to go on a road trip down the Mississippi River to attend a high stakes poker game in New Orleans.
As well as the trailer, the poster has also been released.

Gambling, booze, strippers in low rent motels…lets get a woman to direct it. …Looks lightweight to me.Should have been more like The Colour Of Money. But Mendelsohn looks like an enjoyably hammy turn.

It looks like it’s worth a look. I would watch it. By the way “Rounders” with Edward Norton and Matt Damon is an underrated gambling movie about poker players

I love the quote “Ryan Reynolds’ Best Work”, as if there are so many other major accomplishments in his back catalogue for this movie to compete against.
