New Movie Promises Next Bruce Lee - ManlyMovie

New Movie Promises Next Bruce Lee

It’s rather a bold statement to make, but this trailer is pretty damned promising. I’m not going to loose my shit just yet, having endured numerous dissapointments with this particular genre, but this could actually be the martial arts movie I’ve been waiting for ever since The Raid back in, what, 2011?

Not to be confused with Sammo Hung’s new movie of the same name, this feature comes from Yue Song, who previously made The King of the Streets in 2012, which I’ll confess I’d never heard of previously.

I’m digging the werewolf in the poster, not to mention those scantily clad asian girls.  Hell, that looks like the box cover for a fucking awesome beat up on the Sega Genesis. This could be one to watch.

PS. Spotted this one on City on

Good find man. Reminds me on Ong Bak.

Poster looks good, but trailer didn’t impress me much, there was some unneeded cgi stuff, some wire work, and it looks like some fight scenes were shot the way where actors move quite slow, and in post production, they just increased time, to make fights look faster. And I don’t know about you guys, but this guy is not new Bruce Lee for me.

I agree, they seem to have made some false claims regarding the use of special effects and stunt men, but even so this looks better than some of the boring as hell martial arts movies I’ve seen recently. Man of Tai Chi, The Grandmaster, Once Upon a Time in Shanghai, and a slew of other shit films have left me rather jaded. This looks interesting though, hope it’s not a dissapointment like all the others.

That is some bad cutting right there in the trailer.
