Nic Pizzolatto Not Making Third True Detective

Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson in True Detective.

The first season was good, the second season was bad.  So what is series creator Nic Pizzolatto going to do with the third season?  Nothing, apparently.

THR indicates that a whole new show from Pizzolatto is now looking more likely than another season of True Detective.

But to be honest, that doesn’t mean there isn’t going to be a third season of True Detective.  Probably, they’ll just hire someone else to helm it.  Maybe this time they’ll rein in the amount of big names being crammed into the show, at the expense of a good story.

Or maybe that won’t be such a problem, since so many might not want to get on board after the season 2 fiasco.

Growing up and up until a few years ago maybe, I loved HBO.
Now it’s mostly an agenda pushing /Lefty hipster Network.

Not only that but is the overall tone of the Network. Reminds me of how much fun MTV used to be back in the day to what it turned into.
Michael Lombardo became head of programming a decade ago or so ( he just stepped down) & he is an openly gay man who couldnt control his politics & HBO suffered as a result.
Yes they have Game of Thrones but they have turned down many high-profile projects by the likes of David Fincher and other Pilots with big name Stars while giving Lena Porkham free reign to do her stupid shows , not to mention a lot of gay themed programs, documentaries on how evil the Christian churches are and of course the political shows led by Bill Maher and Jon Oliver. it’s like watching MSNBC with scripted shows at times.
there have been some shows on Netflix that back in the day would have been perfect for HBO like House of Cards produced by David Fincher..
I believe The Sopranos we’re not even get on the air today.
at least Lombardo just stepped down & maybe the network will get better

It’s not great and it seemed to get worse and worse. I never even watched the last couple of episodes.
