4) The Way Back (2010)
This movie is a lot like As Far as My Feet Will Carry Me. In a Soviet gulag, where coal is being mined, the obvious outcome for anyone being detained there is death. Manly man Ed Harris, along with Jim Sturgess and Colin Farrell, decide to bust out of the hell hole and make their escape. Since it’s in the middle of Siberia, in the middle of winter, their chances of survival are close to zero. But an edge is that nobody would expect an escape bid into the some of the harshest territory on earth.
For survival, expect ingenuity, a 4,000 mile trek (!) through India and as food, stuff that would make a billy goat puke. They have to go right through frozen lands and crusted deserts. This was a well filmed movie. And again, the Soviets are on their asses.
