UPDATED: A Look At Michael Keaton In ‘American Assassin’

UPDATED: Above is the trailer for this movie, a few people let me know I missed it.  Thanks.

PREVIOUSLY: One of the best actors ever, Michael Keaton, will star in the upcoming thriller American Assassin.  It could be damned good.  The film also stars Daniel O’Brien and was directed by Michael Cuesta.  Check out the synopsis and pics below.  Keaton looking cool as hell!

A CIA black ops recruit, Mitch Rapp (O’Brien), is devastated by the loss of his girlfriend to a terrorist attack. CIA Deputy Director Irene Kennedy (Lathan) assigns Stan Hurley (Keaton) to train a grief-stricken but highly motivated Rapp how to thwart terrorist operations and hunt the perpetrators. Together they investigate a wave of apparently random attacks on military and civilian targets and discover a pattern in the violence that leads them to a joint mission with a lethal Turkish agent (Negar) to stop a mysterious operative (Kitsch) intent on starting a world war in the Middle East.

Vince Flynn was a great novelist who wrote a series of novels with the agent Mitch Rapp as a central figure. He sadly passed away from cancer at the age of 47.
If any of you liked the Jack Ryan novels you’re bound to like this series as well.

Great movie ahead of its time! Do you remember the opening credits,3D letters interacting with objects and buildings? First time they did this,5 years later David Fincher ripped it off for Panic Room

Barbet Schroeder directed the film and he was a really good director.
He also directed the 90s classic “reversal of Fortune” and “single white female”.
Yep…I like ‘Panic Room” but you are right..”desperate measures” did it first. Cool movie. Too bad more people dont know about it. Keaton & Garcia were great.

Michael Keaton should also be in the expendables 4. If they can’t get Jack Nicholson for the villain, well they can get his costar from batman. Or if they can’t get kurt Russell, they can get a guy born the same year as him like Michael Keaton.

Or Michael Douglas-which is actual Keatons birth name but he couldnt use it because Douglas was already famous when he started out. Would be an epic insider joke having Douglas play a guy called Keaton and Keaton play a guy called Douglas in ex4

I know that. But if they get both those guys I’ll be happy they finally did it right.

Gee, the actual villain is a “rogue agent”. Haven’t seen that before…
