Stallone Teases Another Rocky/Drago Showdown

Those Drago in Creed II rumors don’t seem to be going away.  Along with Dolph Lundgren now appearing on the IMDb page for the movie (although anyone can edit those), Sylvester Stallone is also teasing another showdown between Rocky and Drago.

Stallone tells TMZ Sports things are definitely going to get violent between Rocky and Drago — “You know I gotta hit Drago once.”

I suppose it will be a confrontation at a weigh in or something.

I’ll tell you that it’s going to be weird as fuck seeing Drago back in a movie.  I wonder if there is any truth to the rumors of him even getting a spin off movie.

On the IMDb the synopsis for Creed II reads: Adonis Creed tries to seek revenge when he goes toe to toe with the man who killed his father.

could be an interesting premise I suppose, if done right.

I imagine they’ll both be trainers, and have an argument or something along those lines. It will be very strange seeing Drago back on screen, his role is quite a well-known one and he’s cemented for all time, but I don’t know how it’ll be to see him again 30 years older, but then Dolph looks pretty good still.

Growing up I had a profound love obviously for the Rocky movies but Rocky 4 was something else for me. It’s not the best movie in the series however is the best “fight movie” in the series.

It’s still a personal favorite of mine. Sometimes I collect old stuff from movies and I have a bunch of stuff from “Rocky 4” like original vinyl records.

I personally felt that “Rocky Balboa” was the perfect end to the series & even though I recognize some of the merits of “Creed” I still believe that that movie pretty much was an urban remake of “Rocky Balboa”. They pretty much ignored ( or pissed) everything that was accomplished in the previous one to make the character of Rocky down and out again.

Drago was one of the greatest antagonists in a fight movie in cinema history and also a highlight of the 80s where I think he should remain. So now what? We going to have Drago Jr. vs Creed Jr.? So you think Drago Jr. is going to kill Creed Jr.? Would Rocky throw the towel this time?

    This is a bad idea.

Vince DiCola made a classic score. To this day I don’t understand why he did not have more success cuz he’s fucking good. I love the whole soundtrack. Almost the entire record its a gym anthem.
        Rocky 4 is a masterpiece👍

Btw .. I don’t know if you’ve ever seen the movie “Judgement Night” & that movie has a cool soundtrack that featured Duets of rap and heavy metal groups. Came out in ’93 and there’s still a few songs in there that I still use for gym time

When I was a kid this was Batman versus Superman. No special effects needed.

When Dolph was asked about playing Drago again a couple of years ago, his response was “Dear God I hope not.”
He always imagined that Drago returned to Russia, became an alcoholic and drank himself to death.
I have to wonder if Sly has actually been talking to Dolph at length or not… Because unless contracts are signed, I’m not believing this.

Having Adonis fight Ivan Drago would accomplish nothing as he would be beating up an old man (compared to him) so Drago would become the underdog and traditionally in Rocky movies the audience is supposed to root for the underdog. If the premise is indeed, Creed Jr. Vs. Drago Jr. that’s beyond the level of cheese my mind can comprehend. Something about all this worries me, I hope the premise is a lot better than these 2 obvious ones…..
