THE EQUALIZER 2

There is good news for the Denzel Washington-led Equalizer sequel.  It’s still happening at Sony, but probably even better news in an inversion of Fox moving The Predator further out of the summer slat, Sony is moving The Equalizer 2 forward from August 3rd to July 20th.

Hotter in more ways than one.  Sony was infamously happy with the test screenings of the original movie, it scored the best ever test reactions for an R-Rated movie.  Have they done something similar again?

SLEEPING DOGS

Per the picture we’ve posted to Twitter, we have the first look at Donnie Yen in his new movie Sleeping Dogs.  The film sees Yen playing an undercover cop looking to take down Triads in Hong Kong.

CALL OF DUTY

The idea for a Call of Duty movie is an old one, but one that has came back onto the radar.  Stefano Sollima, who will in fact direct the sequel to Sicario, is reportedly in negotiations to get this thing going as director.

Kieran Fitzgerald will write the script and will develop with Sollima while Stacey Sher and Nick van Dyk are producing.  There is no word in which direction the film will go in.  The games cut their teeth as WW2 shooters, but didn’t become ‘original’ stories until they went modern.

This will be a hard nut to crack.  COD has passed its prime, even if it still sells strong.
