New Director Found For RoboCop Returns

Australian filmmaker Abe Forsythe, director of rom-com zombie movie Little Monsters, has apparently been hired to direct RoboCop Returns.

Justin Rhodes, one of the writers of Terminator: Dark Fate, has written the most recent version of the script.

Following Neil Blomkamp’s departure from the project, none of this is good news.  We know what happened with the last RoboCop movie, a talented but unknown director is hired and studio interference sends it to the bottom.  Whether Forsythe is even talented or not, I don’t know, but his movie getting 6.3 on the IMDb doesn’t inspire confidence.

I wonder if Peter Weller is locked in yet.  Chances of him reprising his role – lessening.
