DETAILS ON BEVERLY HILLS COP 4 CHOPPER SCENE

It looks like Jerry Bruckheimer wasn’t joking when he said this week that Beverly Hills Cop 4 was ‘days’ away from entering actual production.  Some information is coming out of the local Beverly Hills news about the special permissions being given to the film.

The movie supposedly opens when a grand entrance in front of Beverly Hills City hall, with an unnamed figure exiting a helicopter.

In a dramatic, heroic moment, a helicopter hovers above the steps leading to Beverly Hills City Hall. A person exits the front of the iconic building, wind blowing in their hair, for a short stand-off with the pilot.

For this scene, Netflix, which is producing the movie, had to apply for special permission.  This was granted only after the script was submitted to the city council and scrutinized.  That apparently took place months ago and was approved to enter production.  Which is now happening.

Of course the real news for this piece is that the development hell jokes kind of have to stop now.  Here’s hoping the ‘Maverick Effect’ carries through this and possibly others.
