RUSSELL MAKING NEW ‘ESCAPE’ SEQUEL?

Kurt Russell has two ‘Escape’ movies on his resume.  According to GiantFreakinRobot, a third is in the pipeline.

Kurt Russell is set to return to the role of Snake Plissken for a new Escape from New Yorksequel by Radio Silence, the filmmaking collective behind the recent Scream reboot. According to our trusted and proven sources, the John Carpenter series is being revived with its original star, but the trio of Matt Bettinelli-Olpin, Tyler Gillett, and Chad Villella will now be helming the project.

Who knows if it’s true.  Maybe Mel Gibson, for no reason other than he’s Mel Gibson, but at any rate, they keep a diary of claims that have supposedly been proven true.  Some of them look like huge confirmed rumors.

Anyway, Russell has not fallen into the VOD pit that many of his peers have been taken by.
