Leitch In Talks For ‘Enter The Dragon’

Deadpool 2 and Atomic Blonde director David Leitch is in early talks to helm a remake of the Bruce Lee 1973 martial arts manly movie Enter the Dragon for Warner Bros. Pictures.  Bold, but I suppose it’s been 45 years and it was going to happen sooner or later.

In the original, Bruce Lee played a martial-arts expert determined to help capture the narcotics dealer whose gang was responsible for the death of his sister. Lee enters a kung fu competition in an attempt to fight his way to the dealer’s headquarters with the help of some friends.

Never mind Lee’s role not being cast yet, there isn’t even a writer.  But surely the center role will be the hardest thing to nail.  Treading in Lee’s footsteps is like trying to repackage Elvis Presley.  It’ll live and die on that piece of casting.

Previously, Brett Ratner and Spike Lee were attached to direct.

David Leitch should work on Hobbs and Shaw and he should direct Expendables 4 if they can’t get John Woo to direct, or Antoine Fuqua, Michael Bay, or the other guy who directed John Wick. Cause he helped do John Wick really good and Deadpool 2 was great because of him.

They’ll either cast Melissa McCarthy or a trans gay midget in the Bruce Lee role they way things are going.

Bad idea, there’s some movies that you don’t just remake. It’s still a classic and held in high regard by many, many people. Sure, it’s dated in some regards, but then everything dates over time, but you should accept and appreciate things for when they were made. At least I do. Look at the remake of Death Wish. Nobody cared and it barely made any money. I didn’t think it was as bad as it was going to be but they could have just called it something else instead of trying to cash in on the Death Wish name to get some promotion.

One way to ensure the movie won’t suck is to NOT let Spike Lee, Brett Ratner or any other shitty director be in charge of it.

Just make a martial arts film worthy of Enter The Dragon’s legacy and call it John Wick 4.

I never saw the original. I know. It is shameful. Need to remedy that.

Remaking this is sacrilege. The film works because of Bruce Lee and his legend and charisma. The premise is simple, Lee made it work
