3) Sicario
Honestly, although Creed and Rogue Nation are good, they were called up from the bench so to speak, since I was kind of scratching my head for five and four. But now things get more serious.
Sicario is a damned good movie and kind of like an IV drip for manly movies. It’s cold and cool with expert performers working for a real auteur. It wassn’t built entirely around some female super cop like certain people were hoping (ergo we get a story focused feature instead of an agenda focused one). And it’s also brought to us from the director of the supremely manly Prisoners.
How manly is Benicio del Toro in this movie? It’s his best since The Hunted alongside Tommy Lee Jones.
