Jason Momoa In Talks For Magnificent Seven Remake

It was reported some time ago that Denzel Washington and Ethan Hawke were being touted to appear in the upcoming remake of the Magnificent Seven remake.  Now another potential cast member could join this potentially manly reboot, Jason Momoa.

With a script written by John Lee Hancock and Nic Pizzolatto, the new version’s story kicks off when a woman (Haley Bennett) hires a disparate group of gunslingers to protect her town from rampaging varmants.

Maybe the best news about this though is that Antoine Fuqua is directing.  I think that guy has quite a successful track records of putting real gritty manly movies to screen.  Good director.

The original movie starred starred Yul Brynner, Steve McQueen, Charles Bronson and Robert Vaughn, now that was some heavy fuckin’ firepower right there.  So Fuqua is going to have his work cut out for him.  Good to see a bunch of westerns coming out of the woodwork though.
