HBO has released images for upcoming science fiction thriller “Westworld”, which has been turned into a TV series. The series will be written by Jonathan Nolan, more or less following the original which revolved around a malfunctioning Wild West robot at a futuristic adult amusement park. The official, cryptic logline for this HBO series is as follows:
Westworld is a dark odyssey about the dawn of artificial consciousness and the future of sin.
Nolan co-wrote the pilot for Westworld with his wife, Lisa Joy, and also directed the first episode with a fantastic cast led by Anthony Hopkins, Evan Rachel Wood, Ed Harris, Jeffrey Wright, James Marsden, and Rodrigo Santoro. At one point this was an Arnold Schwarzenegger project, in the 1990s I believe. Around the time he was being touted for Sgt. Rock. I’m sure there will be a lot of commentary in regards to the growing relevancy or even dependency on technology in this series.
