Actor Tom Hardy my not be a fan favorite with this site, but he recently took aim at the direction movies are headed in, at least big productions, and said that television is now far superior. It’s kinda hard to say that he’s wrong. Fargo and True Detective are among the best entertainment you can find in 2014.
Maybe it is this quote that resonates most:
“I would rather take that £18m budget and produce a TV series where an idea can fully flourish, rather than see it have to tick certain boxes and get cut into something it was never meant to be.”
What does that remind you of? But hopefully the future holds more in the line of action/thriller on TV. I would love to see Michael Mann develop something for television, for example. Anyway, for once Hardy gets it right as presents himself as agreeable.
