For those who were not satisfied with the beast that is Mel Gibson appearing in the Fast-Bendables, as well as its weak unrated cut, then you might take solace in the news that his new movie, Blood Father, will be somewhat more gritty. A nice rating synopsis has emerged that reveals that the movie will have an ‘R’ MPAA rating.
MPAA RATING: R (for strong violence, language throughout and brief drug use).
The film will get a theatrical release both in Europe and in North America. That’s what I got straight from the horse’s mouth via French distribution. We had footage added on our YouTube Channel but had to remove via studio request. I’m guessing the footage that we found has been earmarked for a major site.
In the movie, Mel plays an ex-con who reunites with his estranged, wayward 16-year old daughter, and vows to protect her from the drug dealers who are trying to kill her. That’s a tried and test formula for manly movies… but adding in the GOAT? Sign us on. Even better though, the movie will be directed by ‘Mesrine‘ and Assault on Precinct 13 helmer Jean-François Richet. The two Mesrines in particular were good manly movies, don’t deprive yourself of those just because they’re not in English.
