A while back George Miller said he wanted a break from Mad Max, to probably do something smaller before doing a sequel to Fury Road. Well apparently he has changed his mind and does not want to return to the property.
Page Six today has published a quote indicating Miller is pretty much no longer involved with the franchise.
“I won’t make more ‘Mad Max’ movies. ‘Fury Road’ with Charlize Theron, Zoe Kravitz, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Riley Keough was forever getting completed. If you finish one in a year, it’s considered a leap of faith. Start, stop, start again.
I’ve shot in Australia in a field of wild flowers and flat red earth when it rained heavily forever. We had to wait 18 months and every return to the US was 27 hours. Those ‘Mad Maxes’ take forever. I won’t do those anymore.”
It really does not surprise me since Miller is not getting any younger and these movies will take a lot out of a man his age. I mean if you bought the Blu-Ray you would’ve seen that the final truck stunt alone really did raise the man’s nerves. Could it also be though that the studio has made new creative demands too?
