MacGyver Headed To The Big Screen

MacGyver is not only being rebooted for a small screen run – they’re prepping a pilot (CBS, surprise) – but now also they’re taking him to the big screen.  LionsGate will partner with CBS for this venture.

Producer Neal Moritz and original “MacGyver” creator Lee David Zlotoff will produce the film according to TheHollywoodReporter.

R. Scott Gemmill (“NCIS: L.A.”) is writing the script for the TV pilot and will executive produce.  Richard Dean Anderson starred in the original ABC series that ran for seven seasons and followed a secret agent with an encyclopedic knowledge of the physical sciences – allowing him to solve complicated problems crafting elaborate things out of ordinary objects.  That may not have been the manliest of methods, but it was still kind of cool too for ’80s kids.
