Stallone Rep Says He’s Done With Action

I suppose this had to happen sooner or later.  Now, given the man’s age and the success of Creed, it’s not surprising to hear something like this now.  Sylvester Stallone has ended his long term professional relationship with producing partner Kevin King Templeton.

They worked on many action movies over the course of 30 years plus.

A spokeswoman for Stallone has said; “Now, as Sly has shifted away from the action genre to focus on more dramatic projects, he supports Kevin King in his efforts to continue his own work as a producer.

“Should there be a win at the Academy Awards, Kevin King is one of the individuals that Sly intends to thank for his loyal service.”

Well, I can’t blame him, however… I wouldn’t like to see him avoid the thriller genre too.  I was kind of hoping Stallone would go the Bronson route, you know, murdering criminals up some back alley.  Not all action has to have the man beating himself half to death in stunts.  I mean come on, stuff like killing thieves (see below) doesn’t require too much exertion!

I guess this means no more Barney Ross in The Expendables, well, probably a Church-like cameo.
