Stallone ‘Categorically Denies’ ExpendaBelles Role

There has been talk of a female-orientated Expendables spin off for a while now.  Years in fact.  That’s always the case with a successful franchise like The Expendables.  Everyone wants their ‘universe’.  However, Sylvester Stallone has gotten sick of this talk.

Sylvester Stallone has tired of erroneous media reports cropping up around the world that he is in the center of The Expendabelles, a spinoff film that will team a group of female operatives. Stallone wants it known that he isn’t in any way participating in an all-female cast offshoot of Expendables and that he has absolutely no future plans to be associated with the long-planned film. Stallone, who is coming off an Oscar-nominated performance as Rocky Balboa in Creed, categorically denies the story and wants the world to know it.

So Stallone has apparently used Deadline to ‘clear up’ some things.  But you know, I stay on top of these reports obviously.  And no-one has mentioned Stallone’s involvement with that movie recently, not that I remember.  In fact of the two times I remember Stallone be affiliated with the movie, it came from he himself.  First while promoting The Expendables 3, then again a year later when he said he wanted Sigourney Weaver in the movie.

It sort of reminds us of The Expendables 2.  Stallone revealed that the movie would be PG-13 (but that it would ‘bash ass’).  Then later after atomic uproar, Stallone came out to denounce these ‘odd rumours’ and say that the movie would be ‘R’ rated…
