Updated: Eddie Says Beverly Hills Cop 4 ‘Close’

UPDATED: Maybe we should keep this post as a journal and title it; ‘Eddie’s ongoing BHC4 flip flop saga’.  It’s dead, it’s not dead, it’s dead and now… according to Murphy speaking in this video (no embed available) they are now as ‘close as they’ve ever been’ to finalizing Beverly Hills Cop 4.  Okay Eddie.

I’ll tell you one thing, there is no possibility of them saying fuck it, let’s do a TV reboot.  They’ve already tried that and it failed, very, very badly.  The less said about that, the better.  No, really.
PREVIOUSLY:

Some actors from the golden era of manly movies (80s/90s) are so into self promotion that they’ll willfully appear in shit movies, then tell you that it’s a brilliant show and that everyone should go out and see it.

Thankfully, Eddie Murphy is no longer on that train.  We’re still not getting a Beverly Hills Cop 4, but maybe that’s a good thing.  Murphy mentions in the video above that the script is not right.  The new writers are Adil El Arbi & Bilall Fallah and perhaps they simply don’t ‘get’ the series either.

But good to hear Murphy own his ‘shit’ movies.  He says ‘I don’t want to return and say here I am with some bullshit’. The last known premise of Beverly Hills Cop 4 to me was Foley returning to Detroit in the midst of one of the worst snowstorms in history.
