News Blowout: Duke Nukem, The Irishman, Dundee, Escape Plan 3

DUKE NUKEM

Every year around August or September, it seems we get a new Duke Nukem movie rumor.  Now, we’re going to get talk of two in one year.  After Jon St. John revealed he wanted to do a voice over for an R rated CGI movie, but he might have to dash his hopes because the latest rumor has John Cena saving the babes in a big live action movie for Paramount.

Well, you know…

All I gotta say is, if they fuck up a movie about The King, someone’s going to fucking die.  Someone is going to get sacrificed on a fucking altar.

THE IRISHMAN

Another long gestating movie is further into development.  The first poster for The Irishman can be seen below.

The movie is also now said to have a $100 million budget, with much of that going towards de-aging technology.  Harvey Keitel is also now rumored for the movie.

Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, Bobby Cannavale and Joe Pesci are in the film based on Frank Sheeran, a family man who led a double life as a hitman for the mob and had at least 25 murders to his name including the then head of the Teamsters union Hoffa.

DUNDEE

The trailer was released a few days back for Dundee, basically Crocodile Dundee 4.  Starring… some guy, the trailer looked like it was literally designed to invoke riots in Australia.  It’s now also said that Paul Hogan will be in the movie in some fashion or other, probably an extended cameo.

But what’s also interesting is that Chris Hemsworth is now also revealed to be in the movie.

Hemsworth is also onboard playing Wally Jr., the son of John Meillon’s Walter ‘Wally’ Reilly and Mick’s oldest friend in the original films.

In the project Wally Jr. is described as the heir to his father’s outback tour company: “This expert outdoorsman prides himself on knowing all the is to know about the land down under. But even he will have his hands full keeping his new American friend out of trouble.”

There is a new clip with Hemsworth in the movie.  Getting ‘so bad, it could be watchable’ vibes…

ESCAPE PLAN 3

We haven’t even had Escape Plan 2, but a third movie already in the can is always a good sign.  Someone has confidence in the property.  When I mentioned EP3 on social media, a few people always mention that I mistook it for the upcoming second movie.

Nope, definitely three of them now.  A new pic from the third movie is below.  It’ll be set in the old Shawshank Redemption prison.  So maybe there’ll be a Lock Up feel to it?
