Things aren’t looking too good for the Predator franchise.
First, it seems like Shane Black is buds with pedophiles and invites them into his movies for bit roles. The Los Angeles Times reports Fox deleted a scene featuring actor Steven Wilder Striegel, who is a longtime friend of director Shane Black. Striegel reportedly had a “three-page scene” with actress Olivia Munn. The scene featured Striegel as a jogger who repeatedly hits on Munn’s character.
Munn reportedly discovered that Striegel was a registered sex offender. Striegel faced allegations in 2010 that he attempted to lure a 14-year-old female into a sexual relationship over the internet. He pleaded guilty to two felonies.
Okay…
Elsewhere, reviews are coming in for the film. First, DenofGeek sounds to be a little upset with the movie, actually. Here’s the opening for their review:
For the next few years, I suspect that co-writer and director Shane Black, and the core team behind The Predator, are going to be facing a question about the movie in most press interviews they do. What happened? Was it your film? Where did it go wrong?
They gave the movie a 1/5.
But the worst news is probably to be found in this video review, which just lets rip with spoilers, particularly the ending complained about in the written review above. Apparently, let’s just say, Fox is trying to ape comic book movies with The Predator.
It sounds totally disastrous.
