Tombstone was released Christmas 1993. That’s 25 years ago.
It is an ensemble to say the least, featuring Bill Paxton, Kurt Russell, Billy Zane, Stephen Lang, Charlton Heston, Sam Elliot, Powers Boothe, Michael Biehn and Val Kilmer among others.
George P. Cosmatos directed the film, although a lot of people say that Kurt Russell ‘ghost-directed’ the feature, something Cosmatos supposedly was known for, including Rambo: First Blood Part II actually being directed by Sylvester Stallone.
The film was a commercial and critical success. It beat Kevin Costner’s Wyatt Earp, which came six months later, both financially and critically. Although Wyatt Earp did feature Sensei Kreese!
