Films like this are why this website exists. How do you have the prodigy S. Craig Zahler do the impossible and best his masterpieces Bone Tomahawk and Brawl in Cell Block 99? Well give him more resources, and Mel fucking Gibson.
And it’s going to be two hours and forty minutes.
And you know that Zahler does not do bloated, tedious shit. That’s going to be a damn good 160 minutes. And if anyone has any doubts, now we have the script. And it’s damn good.
And for anyone in doubt, check out this synopsis:
Two policemen, one an old-timer (Mel Gibson), the other his volatile younger partner (Vince Vaughn), find themselves suspended when a video of their strong-arm tactics become the media’s cause du jour. Low on cash and with no other options, these two embittered soldiers descend into the criminal underworld to gain their just due, but instead find far more than they wanted awaiting them in the shadows.
It’s like God himself ordered a movie. This one is surely manly movie of the decade, or even century.
