THAT TIME RIKER STOLE KEATON’S CAR!

Everyone knows there’s only one real Batmobile, owned by the only real Batman.  The Keaton Batmobile has made four ‘live action’ appearances.  Twice in the Burton movies, once in a series of OnStar TV adverts, and then, actually, in the 1990’s TV series Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman.

During that series, Batman was referenced, according to the internet, five times (the first inter-property DC references apparently).  And eventually in the third series, aired in 1995, we got a glimpse of just which version of Batman they were referring to.

It appears the ‘Superman’ TV series fancied itself as being related to the Burton universe.

In the sixth episode, none other than Jonathan Frakes shows up as a villain.  A collector (read: thief) of especially rare items, during the episode Riker invites another criminal around to his house.  Upon opening a secret partition in a wall, he boasts of having pilfered the Batmobile.  The car is shown on display.

Of course, we can deduce that Riker wouldn’t even have looked at the ‘Balemobile’ (AKA rolling boiler house) twice, let alone tried to steal it.  Did you see any Kim Basingers getting into that car in Christopher Nolan’s turgid bore fests?
