JAMES GUNN ALLEGES 150 MILLION COMIC MOVIE VIEWS – WHERE ARE THEY?

Controversial director James Gunn, who was once fired for making sexualized jokes about children over videos sent to him, allegedly by a convicted pedophile, has a new movie out.  It is — woo hoo — the ten trillionth vacuous comic book movie since 1999.  Suicide Squad, as it’s called (… again? already?) has had a red band trailer.

On social media, Gunn has boasted the following:

It seems his CGI movie has defeated Mortal Kombat’s recent record of having the most viewed red band trailer ever.  Has it really?  I’m open to correction, because I have not looked at every source available, but this looks like a bogus number.

On Warner Bros’ own YouTube the trailer only has 1.3 million views, as the first result.   The first YouTube result is always going to be the tale of the tape, it’s the most popular video source on the internet… no web master wants to host.  And while the Twitter trailer has a healthier 16 million views, Gunn has some major catching up to do to find the other 130 million+ views.

Where are they coming from?  Instagram or Facebook?  I cannot see the views for those videos, but their like count, combined, is less than the YouTube 60k likes, which represents 1.3 million views.  What about other languages?  German for example does not pass 900k.  Perhaps other instances of it being uploaded on YouTube?

I see… a combined 15 million?  Before the results descend into reaction spam, which doesn’t count.  Neckbeard reaction videos to plot-free CGI leotard movies being the most odious thing in the history of anything, ever.

Looks to me that James Gunn owes us 100 million additional views.
