Here’s the trailer for the 4K release of The Godfather trilogy.
Paramount Pictures is set to release not just a restoration but a whole new edit of Francis Ford Coppola’s The Godfather Part III – the final film in the trilogy. Above is the trailer.
The new version achieves director/screenwriter Coppola and screenwriter Puzo’s original vision for the finale.
With Coppola overseeing everything, he and his production company American Zoetrope worked from a 4K scan of the original negative to undertake a frame-by-frame restoration of both the original film and the new cut.
In order to create the best presentation possible, Zoetrope and Paramount’s restoration team began by searching for over 50 original takes to replace lower resolution opticals in the original negative – a process that took over six months and sifting through 300 cartons of negative.
Will The Expendables 4 be a downgrade, or actually more expensive? In a new interview with PopCulture, Dolph Lundgren claims that in that sense it’ll be different from the previous films in the series, with the star commenting firstly that the budget is “definitely bigger”, saying “the budget is probably at least twice what the last one was, I think.”
At least twice as big? $200 million? Or with weaker retro star power this time, is there more freed up cash?
Here’s the trailer for Bullet Train. The action comedy is directed by David Leitch and stars Brad Pitt.
Synopsis: Five assassins find themselves on a fast moving bullet train from Tokyo to Morioka with only a few stops in between. They discover their missions are not unrelated to each other.
The film is released this July.
Finally, an image has been floating around the internet of Sensei Seagal in combat gear, alleging that he is taking part in the Russian adventure in Ukraine. On Team Russia, of course, now that Sensei Seagal is a Russian citizen having presumably had enough of the batshit going around the west.
It is a fake image, but given the man’s background, you never know.
Now though, since Joe Rogan shared the image, fake news has been coming after him, such as this article in The Independent. Humorously, the editors at notorious fake news promulgator ‘The Independent’ have the stones to deride something else as fake news, even if it is.
Having said all that, I think we have a good pitch for Sensei Seagal’s latest movie, boys. He’ll play Yuri Koslov, an ex-Spetsnaz Commando sent into the Donbass to stop NATO-backed atrocities against helpless old ladies, before the slaughter leads to a real war.
