Years ago actor John Leguizamo took aim at Sensei Seagal, claiming that Seagal smashed him into a wall on the set of Executive Decision (good movie). In fact, Leguizamo seems to tell that story to anyone who’ll listen, although mind you we don’t get the Sensei’s version of these events.
Anyway, comedy The Menu has been released and stars Leguizamo. He plays a washed-up action star.
Speaking with EW recently, Leguizamo says to get into the mindset of his character, he channelled one of his former co-stars – Steven Seagal:
“I’ve met lots of these stars like that, maybe before they were washed up. I mean, now they’re washed up. I kind of based mine on Steven Seagal. I had a bad run-in with him. We did a movie together. It was ‘Executive Decision’. He’s kind of a horrible human.”
Maybe it’s time these two men met face to face to iron this thing out. This sure is a long time to be harboring such negative chi — 26 years, John. Very negative chi.
