This news somehow slipped the net, it appeared kind of under the radar a week or two ago. It looks like John McTiernan is directing his first movie in over 20 years. It’ll be called Taut Ceci Foxtrot. According to JoBlo:
The plot centers around “a group of rebels who set out to kill the oligarchs and military thugs that terrorized a war-torn planet in the remote Tau Ceti solar system.”
McTiernan got shook up by prison. He came out spouting social justice nonsense, so I think this project should be approached with caution. Please let’s not have ANTIFA IN SPACE. At any rate, the above is concept art for the movie.
The movie is a French project, kicking off production soon in Paris.
Hate to be a Debbie Downer here, but that last Indiana Jones movie was a pile of shit. It was the DHINO of the series. I mean, fucking aliens? WTF Spielberg? Also Shia LeBeouf. That’s a blocked drain right there in and of itself.
The new movie is another sequel to be approached with caution. But one piece of news coming out about it is that it’ll feature a big retro intro, set in 1944 with a de-aged Harrison Ford going up against his old Nazi enemies. From there the rest of the movie will jump forward to 1969.
Director James Mangold told Empire Magazine: “I wanted the chance to dive into this kind of full-on George-and-Steven old picture and give the audience an adrenaline blast.” Definitely something we’re going to want to check out on YouTube at the very least.
