First, I totally forgot to post that The GOAT is preparing to film a sequel to masterwork The Passion of the Christ ‘within months’. I had been busy recently. Jim Caviezel is set to return as The Boss and Mel will return as director. It’ll be called The Passion of the Christ: Resurrection.
Now comes separate news. Or perhaps not separate at all?
Mel Gibson was supposed to take part in the Mardi Gras festivities in New Orleans this year, but has now been ‘dropped’ from the lineup, with the organizers citing ‘threats’. The GOAT was supposed to be co-grand marshal.
Mel Gibson has been dropped from a Mardi Gras parade’s lineup in New Orleans after organizers said they’d received “threats” and cited safety concerns.
Following Gibson’s removal from the parade, the Anti-Defamation League, the Jewish Federation of Greater New Orleans, the Greater New Orleans Clergy and the Jewish Community Relations Council issued a joint statement, saying they were “appalled” that parade organizers had chosen Gibson as co-grand marshal to begin with.
What we’re dealing with here, gentlemen, is a bout of terrorism. Issuing threats to the safety of a community event, unless someone whose views you disagree with is removed. It could be that a second war is about to be declared on Gibson.
