Liam Neeson is not a fan of the UFC.
Asked by Men’s Health for his thoughts on the Ultimate Fighting Championship, Liam responded: ‘UFC I can’t stand. That to me is like a bar fight. I know the practitioners are like, ‘no, you’re wrong—the months of training we do…’ He added: ‘Why don’t you just grab a beer bottle and hit the other guy over the head? That’s the next stage of the UFC. I hate it.’
Neeson then took aim at Connor McGregor.
‘That little leprechaun Conor McGregor, he gives Ireland a bad name. I know he’s fit, and I admire him for that. But I can’t take it.’
Neeson himself is a former competitive fighter. Previously speaking with ESPN about his Northern Ireland amateur boxing champion run, he said: ‘I was OK, I was competent. I was a jabber, I had a good jab. I had about 40 fights and I won about maybe 30.’
