A nice little nugget from Michael Rooker appeared online earlier this week that probably escaped the notice of many. He says that on the set of Cliffhanger, or more accurately on location on a mountain summit, “we were nearly all killed”!
“It was a real environment up in the Northern Italian Alps and we were all in real danger. ‘We were literally on the edge of this plateau where there was a drop off of about 10,000ft and we could see this storm coming from miles away. By the time we set it up it was already too late. We were stuck in the middle of an electric storm, with lightning hitting the mountain tops all around us.
The only protection was huddling together in this tent where our hair was standing on end because of the electricity. ‘The air was popping all around us… they made an emergency call and had helicopters come up and get us.”
An interesting story. Full article here.
