Jerry Bruckheimer has been talking about ’80s classics again. Specifically sequels to Top Gun and the Beverly Hills Cop series. First he has been talking about Beverly Hills Cop IV which will be his first movie produced while back at Paramount Studios.
“Eddie Murphy’s been very involved with the development. It’ll still be in Beverly Hills, but he’s going to Detroit too. It’s an R-rated movie. It’s going back to the original. We have a script and it’s being rewritten. By the end of July we will have a script that everyone will want to make.”
Then Bruckheimer, who left Disney over a dispute at being forced to film MPAA-friendly movies, goes on to discuss Top Gun 2.
“We’re interviewing a writer who we like quite a lot… the technology has changed the world quite a bit. We didn’t have drones in 1986. But Maverick can think on his feet whereas the drones can’t. Tom’s older, he’s experienced, certainly the way a fighter pilot would be. There’s going to be a lot of character in this one”.
