Red Band Trailer: The Dead 2 (2014)

Two years ago, a respectable zombie apocalypse thriller was released, and many probably missed it.  The Dead was a low budget but mostly effective yarn about a soldier who found himself caught up in an outbreak in north Africa.  It wasn’t a classic movie, but for most zombie fans it just about worked due to knowing its limitations – no shitty melodrama, lots of practical suvival.

Now a sequel is on the way, set in India, where one infected victim sets off a global pandemic starting among that population of 1.2 billion.  The Dead 2, directed by Howard and Jon Ford, will hit DVD and Blu Ray on September 16th.  It has been on tour with some small screenings and is apparently testing well.
