Joel Kinnaman ‘Down’ For RoboCop Sequel

Recently, Joel Kinnaman was asked on whether or not he’d do a RoboCop sequel.

“I’d be surprised if we do another one, but I’d be down,” he says, and then laughs. “I have to, it’s in my contract.”  Sounds like Kinnaman is conceding that the first – and hopefully only – movie was more than a bit shit.

RoboCop (2014) took $242,000,000 at the box office, so alongside Kinnaman saying he is contracted to do a second, people may worry about another one of these movies.  242 million may sound like a lot, but keep in mind this is a global total and that the original budget was 130 million, which makes that 242 million seem less impressive.

Incidentally, Kinnaman will star in upcoming gangster thriller Run All Night, alongside Liam Neeson and  Ed Harris, where “An aging hitman is forced to take on his brutal former boss to protect his estranged son and his family.” So let’s not write him off yet.
