One of the most badass things about the second and third Rambo movies was the presence of the MI-24 Hind, used by the Russian antagonists. Of course it wasn’t a real Hind, rather French Aerospatiale Pumas with significant cosmetic modifications. They also made their debut in Red Dawn, a year prior to First Blood: Part II, at the behest of director John Milius.
The helicopter seen in Red Dawn actually differs slightly with an attached nose cone, which was removed for Rambo II due to the obstructions it created in the pilot’s field of view and the fact that it could not be fitted properly with the threat of falling off. A part of the helicopter actually does fall off in Rambo II in the chopper duel and was used in the movie as part of the action.
Anyway, one of the helicopters has now found a new home – on a paintball assault course. Notice that t was the original Red Dawn nose cone attached again. Check out the story in the video below.
