Beverly Hills Cop IV Will Film On Location In Detroit

Well here’s a confirmation of what Jerry Bruckheimer mentioned some time ago in passing, during an interview.  Beverly Hills Cop IV will shoot in Detroit, Foley’s hometown.  This was confirmed by Margaret O’Riley, director of the Michigan Film Office.

“We are excited to welcome Axel Foley and the ‘Beverly Hills Cop’ franchise back to Michigan. This project will highlight locations throughout metro Detroit that speak to the city’s heritage while making significant investments in the community by hiring Michigan workers and local businesses.”

The movie will get a $16,000,000 rebate as part of its total larger budget.  The first piece of trivia has also been revealed, with the movie set during the coldest detroit winter on record.  One other thing, ever wonder how those ‘reboot’ rumors start?  Look to Variety for an explanation on that, who are just carelessly labelling the movie a reboot, simply because there hasn’t been a BHC movie in many years.  Despite the fact that it isn’t a reboot.
