Actor Jamie Dornan might be famous for his appearance in girlie man feature 50 Shades of Grey right now, but he’s headed to more tolerable waters in an upcoming WW2 thriller titled ‘Anthropoid’.
Dornan will join fellow Irishman Cillian Murphy in the film which tells the story of Czech soldiers Jozef Gabčík and Jan Kubiš, who were trained by the British and airlifted into Prague in May of 1942 to assassinate ruthless SS leader Reinhard Heydrich, AKA “The Hangman.” The story has been told on film several times before, most recently in Lewis Gilbert’s 1975 film Operation Daybreak.
British helmer Sean Ellis, whose Cashback was nominated for a Best Live-Action Short Film Oscar in 2006, will direct from a screenplay he wrote with Anthony Frewin. We can’t say no to a WW2 thriller, even with girlie man actors!
But I wonder… what is up with Telemark, the upcoming big budget TV series? Come on Danny Boyle, get a move on!
