It looks like Liam Neeson is not yet done with his late career action streak.
Game of Thrones director Brian Kirk has signed on to direct the action-thriller Narco Sub for 20th Century Fox, Scott Free and Genre Films with Neeson in talks to star in the lead role. The script by David Guggenheim (Safe House) follows Neeson’s disgraced American Naval officer when a notorious Ecuadorian drug lord forces him to navigate a submarine full of cocaine past the U.S. Coast Guard.
Via The Wrap, Ridley Scott will produce the film with Simon Kinberg. Tony Scott, Doug Liman and Antoine Fuqua all circled various incarnations of the film over the years.
Neeson has recently said he’ll finish up with this kinetic types of movies in the next two years. I can’t blame him since he’s not getting any younger. But this one sounds interesting all the same.
