To me this was one to keep an eye out for. However it looks like “The Deep Blue Good-By” may not happen.
Director James Mangold was set to reteam with his 3:10 to Yuma star Christina Bale on the project, which revolves around a self-described beach bum and salvage consultant who seeks to protect a woman who’s been torn apart from her manipulative ex-boyfriend. Filming was poised to begin next month in Florida and Puerto Rico, but Bale recently suffered an ACL injury that’s put the project’s future in jeopardy.
According to THR, the fate of The Deep Blue Good-By is unclear, with the film now “deep-sixed” despite having assembled a cast that includes Peter Dinklage and Nicola Peltz. Some sources tell the outlet the project is dead, but other sources suggest it could be postponed (as Deadline reports).
