Fury Road Getting Black & White Option

An interesting development has emerged with regards to the Blu-Ray release of Mad Max: Fury Road.  Director George Miller says that a black and white transfer of the movie will be available to home issues of this classic film.

Speaking with Slashfilm, Miller reveals that the film’s colorful look is very deliberate but not his ideal look for the film which is the exact opposite:

“The best version of this movie is black and white, but people reserve that for art movies now. The other thing you can do is go really all-out on the color. Teal and orange are the colors we had to work with. The desert is orange and the sky is teal, and you can either de-saturate it or crank it up. It can get really tiring just watching dull, de-saturated color, unless you go all the way out and make it black and white.”

The Australian filmmaker reportedly told the outlet that he has demanded a black and white version of Fury Road to be made available for the Blu-ray, and that version will feature an option to hear just the isolated score as the only soundtrack – stripping down Fury Road as much as it can.

Also, for a man of 70 George Miller looks surprisingly young and alert if you’ve seen him recently.  No joke the man looks to be in his early 50s.
