Rambo To Continue As TV Series With Rambo’s Son

Some of you may have been wondering what has been up with the Rambo series since we have not heard anything in a while.  It’s not good news I’m afraid. FOX has closed a development deal with Sylvester Stallone to executive produce ‘Rambo: New Blood,’ a television continuation of the film series.

The series will follow Stallone’s John Rambo character and his son J.R. who is an ex-Navy Seal. Unconfirmed at this point, Stallone is expected to reprise his role as John Rambo.

It follows the Beverly Hills Cop TV pilot, where Axel Foley supported his ‘son’ as a successor.  We seen it in Die Hard 5.  They tried it in Indiana Jones 4.  But Rambo?  So if the Beverly Hills Cop experiment is anything to go by, the pilot will heavily feature Stallone then – speculation from here – the rest of the episodes will have him cameo here and there, while the build the new ‘Rambo’ with a view to taking him to the big screen as part of a trilogy.

Oh and Rambo V is now officially ‘on hold’.  Which means cancelled, does it?
