THEY’RE MAKING A SEXY BEAST PREQUEL SERIES

I’m still surprised by how few people have seen Sexy Beast, a 2000 gangster movie about an ex-con (Ray Winstone) harassed by a violent maniac (Ben Kingsley) into taking part in a complex heist in London.

I think the film is a borderline masterpiece, even now I could easily watch it twice in one week.

Now they’re doing a TV prequel.  True, we know that these things usually end up being a bit shitty, but it’s notable nonetheless.  James McArdle, Emun Elliot, Sarah Greene and Stephen Moyer have joined the cast for the series being prepared by Paramount+.

The series will return to cover the relationship between Gal Dove and Teddy Bass.
