London Has Fallen (2015) Shooting In Bulgaria This May

Olympus Has Fallen (review) was a surprise hit for R-Rated Manly action in 2013.  Not just as a good movie itself but financially, placing a bit of faith for Hollywood back in grown-up action.  Statistically, it returned over 200% profit while CGI PG-13 slop White House Down (review) could only muster a 30% profit.  No wonder then that Olympus Has Fallen will get a sequel – London Has Fallen (2015), while the PG turd will not.

Today ManlyMovie can reveal the starting date for this project.  It’ll begin shooting in May in Bulgaria at Nu Boyana studios.  The stars themselves including Gerard Butler and Aaron Eckhart will arrive in Bulgaria in late April.  Whether this is good news or not we’ll leave it down to you to decide, but keep in mind that shooting in Bulgaria is no longer what it used to be.  Or at least bigger projects are headed there each year, this is one of them.

London Has Fallen sees agent Mike Banning take on terrorists in the UK after they strike the funeral of the British Prime Minister.  No word on directorial duties.  Yet.  But here’s hoping Antoine Fuqua gets back in the chair…
